Net geen prijs voor Martyn  

Vorige week zaterdag zijn in Londen de Worldwide Awards uitgereikt. De artiesten die het afgelopen jaar ruimschoots aan bod zijn gekomen in de radioshow van Gilles Peterson en bij de peetvader van de nu-jazz de meeste indruk hebben gemaakt, zijn in het zonnetje gezet.

De ceremonie vond vorige week zaterdag plaats in The Garage in Highbury & Islington, Londen. Onze eigen Martyn scoorde in de categorie beste album een verdienstelijke tweede plek, vlak achter Maluta Astake & The Helicocentries. Joy Orbison's 'Hyph Mngo' was volgens Gilles Peterson en zijn team de beste track die het afgelopen jaar is gemaakt. Four Tet ontving de aanmoedigingsprijs, vernoemd naar wijlen John Peel.
